Crafternoon with my Nieces!

Hi all,

Just stopping in with a quick little post today- i will be back with some more later on in the week I promise, but I just wanted to share the results of a little crafty day Ihad with my nieces. All three of them are super talented crafters in their ideas and creativity, and yes- some of these cards were made with lots of supervision by me, and some were done completely by them!

So without further ado, here are some cards made by Miss Leah, who is 11.  Aren't they beautiful! Well done Leah for taking on that inlaid die cut technique and creating that orange and black beauty! And how about the inking huh?  She also created the stamped background on the blue and pink card.

These are by Divya, who is 8 (turning 9 soon)- And she was ambitious! She wanted to do shaker cards! I love that the littlest of the three girls always goes for the techniques that pack the biggest punch! She also had a great idea about giving the shaker cards to her family members (namely, the dog and maybe Mum) so that they never have to leave the house and she can keep them forever!
And how about the beautiful one in the centre- that was all her. So proud

And last but not least, these were done by Priya (yes, another one, although the spelling is slightly different) who is 12. She did these all by herself with no help at all. Look out people! How about that happy birthday one which used up all the negative spaces left from cutting out the shaker windows from the previous cards?! And the camera card was a collage of different sentiments that she found in my stash all put together to create her own custom sentiment.

And here they are altogether! Can you spy a Christmas tree card done by little Miss 2.5?

What a fun day- and the best part? They packed everything away before they went home. I am so proud to call these girls my nieces. They are super talented and I'd better look out…actually. They'll give me a run for my money very soon!

That's all for today folks!

Cure for the Monday Blues

HI guys,
Just checking in with a card that I made for Taheerah's Cure for the Monday Blues challenge

Here is the very glam inspiration photo…

You can see why I had to play along. Yup. Gold.
Hehehe

So here is my card.

I ummed and ahh'ed with the composition of this but finally settled on this. I'm pretty happy with it. And I finally got to use that gold foil vellum from Stampin Up!

And sorry for the less-than-ideal photo. It is night. There are not enough hours left to link up for me to wait til the morning to photograph this properly

Hope you likey!

Many cards, many challenges!

Hey Everyone!
As you can tell, I have been on a crafty spree and have been spending many glorious hours in my crafty lair lately. A) Because I am on holidays and b) because the little one started daycare yesterday! Also, the cleaner has just been, and I have the fridge stocked up with lunches and dinners for a few days so… Craft time!

This first card is a special request by my darling Mum who wanted me to make a thank-you card for a someone called Dei. So I made this bright number that has been personalised to include her name in the greeting. This card is so bright and colourful. It makes me very happy.

The next card is something I have had in my head for weeks waiting and waiting for my Lil' Inker's shipment to arrive. I lie. I ordered it on Jan 7, and it arrived in Sydney Australia on the 14th… Just ONE week.Which is pretty much magic. Must be sorcery or something cause that is so super fast! Not complaining!

Anyway, I have been eyeing this set for weeks, and dreaming up things I could do with it. Of course the first thing to do is add a rainbow. So thats wht I did. With my Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolours. This was so easy to do, and looks so great. I am gonna make a whole bunch of these.
I am entering this card in the Virginia's View- A Clean Slate Challenge , the Never Before Used Stuff #3 (NBUS) and also at CASology

And for my last and final card for today- I am entering the Runway Inspired Challenge for the first time! This challenge is so fabulous in concept- I dunno what has taken me so long! Here was the inspiration photo

YA. I know. Stunning right. And so, I wanted to use my new Altenew and watercolour the heat embossed image using all those pretty colours in the jewels. I then masked the image and inked over the whole panel. I also splattered some perfect pearls over the front panel for shine and heat embossed the sentiment.

Are you still with me? Thanks for hanging around for this very long post!
Hope to see you again soon.

Congratulations- Scrapbook Boutique January Blog Hop

Hi All,
Today I am entering the Scrapbook Boutique Blog Hop and Challenge for the first time! I have wanted to play a long for the longest time, but for one reason or the other, always missed out. Not today!

Here is the delicious inspiration photo:

Love mint green, and I haven't used pearl anything in a while, so I was excited to give this challenge a go.
And here is my take on the inspiration

This card looks very pretty in real life, but is a bit of a shocker to photograph! So here are some more pics where I had to hold the card up to the light. It was the only way to catch that gorgeous shimmer.

I really love this look. it is soft and romantic for a wedding card (like this one) but can also be adapted for other occasions like a baby or even a sympathy card just by switching out the sentiment.

Well, hope you likey!

Four Feathers Watercolour Card with a VIDEO

Hi All!

Today I have made a card for the Virginia's View Challenge- A Clean Slate.

And although my card is NOT one layer- It is quite simple in design and DOES have a lot of white space- so I'm hoping that it qualifies? (pretty please Virginia?:) Well, even if it doesn't I will be making some more entries because I am on summer holidays and I can!  Woo hoo!

I have popped up the entire front panel, leaving a little strip that exposes the heat embossed sentiment on the black card base underneath.

I have also made a video for those of you who want to procrastinate I MEAN!!… for those who want to learn…who want to learn ;) And there is plenty to learn from in my video... *facepalm* ( I am NOT tooting my own horn, by the way- watch the video and find out)

Here's the link incase the above doesn't work

Happy New Year! and MIM in Review 2014

Hi Everyone!

Happy New Year to all of you! I'm not one for New year resolutions.. but this year, I have been struck by the inspiration fairy (not literally, obviously…...- she just waved her wand in my general direction) and I have made quite a few. To eat healthier, to move more, to not feel bad about doing things for myself every so often….and this includes crafting! I have decided that I WILL find time to craft at least once a week, and blog about it.

And so, I begin!

Here is my first card for 2015. I am playing along at Nichole Heady's blog for the Make it Monday in Review. We could choose any 2014 MIM video we liked, and create something to suit. I didn't get to play along with Laura Bassen's camouflaged die cuts a few weeks ago, and so I thought I would give it a go!

So here it is

I have just realised that I am running very late for my nail appointment (see? doing things for myself!) So I will make this ending abrupt!

Hope you likey!

Virginia's View Challenge #9- Metallics

Hi everyone,

Today I have made a very simple card for the Virginia's View Challenge on metallics! I felt right at home here, because I put gold on E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G… So I have a feeling I will be adding more cards to this challenge.

But here is my card!

Really simple, but oh-so-pretty in real life.

And I made a video… Just thought I'd throw that in there. There is nothing ground breaking here…just a test, really to see how I go with shooting a vid on my phone. Please excuse the awkward voiceover, my daughter making noise in the BG, my phone going off, random shots of the top of my head.  So watch if you really have nothing else to do…

EDITED: I got the video embedded now!

Anyway! Hope you likey!!!
